I did not get a chance to stamp much this weekend.  We had a lot of family activities this weekend and just did not get much spare time.   If there is such a thing as spare time anymore!

Hello!

I saw this really technique on the Neat and Tangled blog for making your own wood grain background on a card using a white pigment pad, two tones of brown (or color of your choice) and a fine point marker.    You can see the tutorial here.    To create the hello accent, I cut multiple layers of the hello and then layered them together (4 layers).

Stamps: none today!
Ink:  MFT Sweet Tooth Pigment ink, SU Soft Suede and River Rock
Paper: PI Kraft, MFT Sour Apple, Copic, SU Basic Black
Tools:  MFT Gerbera Daisy, MFT Happy Hellos, MFT Layered Leaves, Copic Multiliner, Copics

Die Cut Inlay - My Favorite Things Gerbera Daisy

Jennifer McGuire had this really cool post on die cut inlay and showed this die from MFT.  See the post here.   When I saw her post, I really wanted to give it a try.  I added the Soft Sky panel to my card and used the tools that I had on hand.    Here is my version of the card:

Stamps:  None used today!
Ink:  No ink used today!
Paper:  PI Stampers select, SU Soft Sky,  Copic
Tools:  Copics,  Swiss Dots EF, MFT Pierced Circle Stax, MFT Gerbera Daisy, MFT Blueprints 11, Wink of Stella Clear

I followed Jennifer's video and just loved how it turned out.    The card is 4 1/4 by 4 1/4 square.   It is hard to see, but the Wink of Stella added a little touch of sparkle to the card.

Sunny Thoughts and MFT New Hybrid Ink

I got my new goodies on Friday from the latest My Favorite Things release.  I ordered some new stamps, stencils and inks!   MFT has released this new hybrid ink in Black Licorice.  It is waterproof so I was able to use my Distress Markers to do some water coloring of the image.  You can use it for both Copic and Watercoloring!  So cool!

There are several new items that I used on this card: Blueprints 14, On the Diagonal Background, and Raindrop Stencil.  It is hard to see in this photo but I used some Versamark ink and then some irridescent embossing powder for the rain drops.

I have not used my Distress Markers in a while and it was so much fun to color her up.   I also used another Hybrid ink in Kraft with the On the Diagonal background.

Mama Elephant Up and Away

I was inspired by Nichol Magourik's cards this week as she was showcasing this stamp set.    I had fun creating these two cards that I am sharing today.     The first card was created with several sets from Mama Elephant (my new addiction!).   I brought out my Prisma Colored pencils and colored the monkey and ballon with the pencils and some Gamsol.     The panels were created with the ME Femme Frames.  On the main panel, I added some soft clouds with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, my MFT Wonky Scalloped border and a sponge dauber.

On the main card panel, I stamped the background with my new Mama Elephant On Point Border stamp with SU Lucky Limeade ink on Lucky Limeade card stock.

For my next card, I created my main panel with MFT Flat bottomed Clouds onto another panel cut from the Mama Elephant Femme Frames out of MFT Berrylicious card stock.

This time I colored up the bunny image with Copic markers.   I flipped the panel and put in behind the vellum scalloped panel.   I cut some stars with the ME Confetti creative cuts die.   The greeting is from a Tiddly Inks set Flying High.

Stamps:  ME Up and Away, TI Flying High, ME On point borders
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Lucky Limeade, Distress Ink Tumbled Glass
Paper:  SU Lucky Limeade, PI Kraft, Vellum, MFT Berrylicious, Sweet Tooth
Tools: ME Femme Frames, MFT Blueprints 12/13, ME Confetti Cuts, ME Up and Away Creative Cuts, MFT Flat Bottomed Clouds, Wink of Stella Clear,  Signo White Gel Pen, MFT Wonky Scalloped Border, Sponge

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hope you have a wonderful week!

I'm all Ears!

Happy Sunday!   Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.   I have a card to share that I made using some stencils and embossing paste.    This is really fun, it is like icing a cake.     The embossing paste is very smooth and creamy just like frosting.

To make my card I started off die cutting a panel from Mama Elephant Femme Frames.   I die cut the rectangle piece from some My Favorite Things Pink Lemonade card stock.   I used Wendy Vecchi Embossing paste and Simon Says Stamp Medium dot stencil.    I sprinkled with Stampin Up Iridescent Ice embossing powder and set it aside to dry for about 30 minutes.  Then I came back and zapped it with my heat gun to melt the embossing powder.   It added a nice spark to the background.   I have a photo that really shows the sparkle below.

I colored up the cute MFT PI I'm all Ears and then paper pieced her dress.   She was popped up on a circle and greeting cut from the Blueprint 13 die.    The panel was layered on a vellum die cut from the Mama Elephant Femme Frames scalloped die.

Stamps:   MFT PI I'm all Ears
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Papertrey Ink Stampers Select, Vellum, MFT Pink Lemonade, Simple Stories Vintage Bliss
Tools:  MFT Blueprints 13, Mama Elephant Femme Frames, Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste,  SSS medium dot stencil, SU Iridescent embossing powder, Wink of Stella clear glitter pen

I loved using the embossing paste and can't wait to use it again!    Thanks for looking!

Watercolor Backgrounds -- Two Cards to Share!

I have been on a kick with my Distress inks.   I am bound and determined to use all my new stamp stuff that I have gotten this past month.  It has been a challenge because I have been out of town a lot lately.   I have really loved using these inks to make backgrounds.

First card is a birthday card:

Stamps: MFT Birthday Sentiments
Ink:  Hero Arts Black, Distress Inks
Paper: PI Kraft, Watercolor, MFT Sweet tooth, Silver Glimmer paper
Tools: SSS Balloon Craft dies, Verve Star, SSS Medium Dots stencil, Doddle bug black and white twine, Embossing paste

For my next card, I did the White Embossed the  MFT Simply Fabulous Saying and then used my Distress ink pads to create a background.

I mounted it on SU Island Indigo paper.   I sprayed the whole image with some Pearlized Mist to add some sparkle.

Stamps: MFT Simply Fabulous Sayings
Ink: Versamark
Paper: watercolor, SU Island Indigo, MFT Sweet Tooth
Tools: MFT Blueprints 13, White Embossing Powder, White Enamel
