My Favorite Things Color Challenge *** lost entry!

I did not realize that I never posted this to my blog.   It has been sitting in Draft for several weeks…. Opps!   So here is my entry for the new My Favorite Things Color Palette Challenge.   This month was Pink, White and Black. MFT Colors!  I used the MFT Doodle Garden I'm Raptor Round Your Finger.   I colored with my Distress Markers.   He is a pink chocolate Raptor!  I just received my latest order and had ordered the Woodgrain background stamp. I can't believe that I waited this long to order it! Love it!

I used MFT Pink Lemonade, Sweet Tooth and some SU Basic Black.   I used accents from my new Blueprints 8 & 3 set.   To layer the colored image I used the MFT Pierced Rectangle and Rectangle Stax 1 sets.   I added some Wink of Stella Clear glitter and it was done!

Thanks for looking!

Pretty in Pink!!!

Here is a quick card that I made using the MFT Wendy Burn's Best Friends stamp set.   Her stamps are super easy to color up. This main image on the card, I had colored up a few weeks ago when I got the stamp.   I love to sometimes just color and practice with different skins and hair colors.    Sometimes they will wind up on a card.    When the images are colored it makes it super easy to create a card quickly.

Stamps:  MFT Wendy Burns Best Friends, MFT LJD Birthday Greetings
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PI Kraft, MFT Sweet Tooth, Basic Grey True Love, MFT Sour Apple, MFT Pink Lemonade

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge - 204 with Mama Elephant Stamps

I just fell in love with this stamp set when I saw this sweet little cupid images over on the Mama Elephant Blog in the December Release.  Really, I loved all the sets for December.   But I was trying to be good……it is so hard to be good sometimes when they are really cute sets!      The stamp set is called Love from Above.   I really loved all the Design teams inspiration but loved the coloring on this card by Emily Leiphart.   I used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge this week to start my card.   The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored in with Copics.   I added some Diamond Stickles to the wings to give them some sparkle.    Luckily this was captured in the photo.    I used my Wink of Stella Clear to add sparkle to the rest of the image.    The pattern paper is from Basic Grey True Love pad.

I cut the image out with my MFT Pierced Rectangle Stax and framed with the MFT Rectangle Stax 1.    Some banners from the MFT Blueprints 2 were cut from some SU Soft Sky.   I aged all the pieces with Distress Ink Antique Linen and added some SU Candy Dots to finish off the sketch.  I finished the inside off with another greeting from the stamp set and added a little piece of the pattern paper to the inside with two more of the banners cut into smaller pieces, no photo to share.    I added some Glossy Accents after the photo was taken to the red heart on the main image panel.    I was losing my light to take a photo and knew that it would not be dry so I added it later.  The whole panel was mounted on some MFT Whip Cream card stock that was cut out with MFT Blueprints 2.    In the photo below, you can see a little bit more sparkle from the Wink of Stella and Stickles.    This card came together super quick.   Thanks for looking!

HB2U -- My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge 160

I had another idea for the weekly sketch challenge card.    I love this stamp, MFT Pure Innocence It's a Sign.   It is one of my favorite images.  My son had used one of my birthday cards for a party this weekend (that had this image on it) and I was thinking, I need another B-Day card for my stash and then…..  I had this idea that her chalkboard would come over the banner like it was popping out.     Sometimes what is in my head doesn't turn out the way that I think it will but this one I thought turned out pretty cute!    So…… posting one more card for this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge.

Here is a close up of the layers.   I actually used three layers to pop it up over the banner.

I have had this stamp for a while and had not inked her up yet.    She is so sweet and makes me think of my niece.   I had these new Delicate Dollies from my MFT order this month (free this month with any MFT order).   They went perfectly with this stamp.    Thanks for looking!

Pop Up Box Card from Splitcoast Stampers

I saw this tutorial and gave it a try.  I was really surprised by how easy it was to create.    It was really fun to put together. You can find the instructions here.    I used a new MFT Pure Innocence Love is in the Air image.   I used my SU Heart Framelits, Heart Punch and my new MFT Staggered Hearts Border die.    The papers are some older SU retired paper that I still LOVE!   You need a 12 x 12 sheet of card stock to start out and I don't normally buy 12 x 12.   I had some SU paper in my stash so I used that.    Thanks for looking!

Stamps:  MFT PI Love is in the Air
Paper: SU Pink Pirouette, Retired DSP, MFT Sweet Tooth, SU Soft Sky

My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge 160

This sketch at first had me stumped for a few days thinking about what I was going to do with the sketch.  I searched around on Pinterest looking for color combos.   I had been wanting to try to emboss using some of my cutting plates.   So I pulled out my MFT Swiss dots cover plate and embossed with the plate instead of cutting.   I loved how it turned out.     Thanks for looking!

Mojo Monday Challenge - MOJO329

I saw this sketch for the Mojo and I knew right away this would be a great sketch to start my card off with.    I had some new stuff that I had just got in from My Favorite Things.    I swapped the circle on the sketch for a square, hope that I am forgiven!

I used this sweet Pure Innocence image - Will you be mine?   I colored her with Copic markers and used Prisma Colored pencils to ground the image.     I used (new to me) background stamps from MFT (Typewriter text, Wood grain  and the Large Scale background to create my layered papers.    MFT Sweet Tooth, Steel Grey, Steel Blue, Bubblegum pink and PI Kraft card stock was used for the layers.    I added a Pink Lemonade button with some hemp twine to top it off.

I will be adding this sketch to my collection of must use again in the future!    Let me know if any questions!

Happy Wednesday to you!!   I created this card this past weekend for this week's Deconstructed Sketch. I used a new stamp set from My Favorite Things, Pure Innocence Love is in the Air.   I kept the layers to a minimum and just stuck to the sketch and did not pop them up.   Then for my hearts I layered several layers of card stock to make my own chipboard embellishment to pop off the card.    Thanks for looking!

Paper: MFT Steel Grey, MFT Whip Cream, Xpress, Basic Grey True Love
Tools:   MFT Pierced Circle Stax, MFT Blueprints 4 and 8, Wink of Stella Clear, Glossy Accents

My Favorite Things Wendy Burns Designs, Best Friends

Adding to my stash of Birthday Cards.   I absolutely love MFT stamps Wendy Burns Designs, the images are so cute and really easy to color for those that are learning to color images.    I would consider myself to still be in the learning stages of coloring faces and hair.   What I have come to learn is that you must practice, practice and practice.  Blending is sometimes a challenge for me that I am trying to learn.    I either blend too little and get lines or blend too much, especially with hair!   I will stamp multiple images out of the same stamp and just start coloring it different ways.  You learn what you like and what you don't like.  I find that some stamps I will gravitate to Distress Markers and others I will want to only use Copics.   I have two examples to share today of the same image but one colored with Copics and the other colored with Distress Markers.  They are two different looks and you really cannot compare the two side by side.   It simply comes down to a matter of preference and style!!

Let me know which one you prefer!

Thanks for looking!

Stamps: MFT WBD Best Friends, MFT LJD Birthday Greetings
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PI Kraft, MFT Whip Cream, Basic Grey Persimmon
Cool Tools: MFT Pierced Oval Stax, MFT Pierced Circle Stax
Copics Markers, Wink of Stella Clear

(TIP: with water coloring -- I tend to try to make it perfect and it is not a perfect coloring medium.   I am not really happy with her face and I tried to go over it again.   It did not blend very well.  What I have discovered with water coloring,  less is best.   When I try to make it perfect, I always wished I left it alone! :-)

Stamps:  MFT WBD Best Friends, MFT Wood grain Background, MFT Musical Note Background
Inks: Ranger Archival Black, MFT Sweet Tooth Pigment ink
Paper: PI Kraft, MFT Steel Grey, MFT Bubblegum Pink, MFT Berrylicious, Watercolor paper
Cool Tools:  Sewing Machine, Watercolor pen, MFT Blueprints 8, Button, Heat Gun

Deconstructed Sketch 133 - Raptor Round your Finger!!

Another challenge card to post.   I have been trying to play more challenges this year!  This was a great Sketch - I played along with Deconstructed Sketch 133 with a My Favorite Things stamp from the Doodle Garden collection, I'm Raptor Round your Finger!

This is one that I got last year and it is absolutely one of my favorite images.   I love the little Raptor!!  This image was colored up with my Distress Markers on watercolor paper.    I used the MFT Pierced Rectangle Stax to frame the image up and used my Distress ink in Tea Dye to antique the edges.   I used several MFT Blueprints (4, 5, 6 & 8) dies to create my layers and embellishments!   I really love those Blueprints!    I created my own chip board embellishments by cutting out several die cuts layers and then glued them together with some mono multi glue.   I topped off the large heart with some patterned paper and for the small heart I used a Copic to color my paper to match my image and then added Wink of Stella and Tea Dye Distress ink to age the die cuts.

The sketch is really great to work with and I will be adding it to one of my favorites!   The card base is made from MFT Whip Cream and Steel Grey.   The pattern paper is Basic Grey True Love.   The ribbon is from Verve that I bought in a pack for Valentines last year (Truly Madly Deeply Collection).  I added sparkle to the card which is hard to see in the photo to all the little hearts and the heart that he is holding!

On the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment and used the Blueprints 5 & 6 to create layers and added the main image again in some Coastal Cabana ink.   I don't have a picture of the inside.  I don't always finish the insides of my cards, but with this card I did.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 202

I missed the deadline for last week's challenge.    So I am sharing my card for last week's sketch and this weeks as well.

For this week's sketch, I used My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Pretty Pumpkin.   Such an easy image to color.    I colored her with Copics -- for the skin I used E000, E00, E21, E11 and R20.    The hair is colored with Y21, YR21, YR24.     The hair bow was colored with R24, R27 and R59.   Shoes were colored with E33, E31 and E30.   The shading is done with W3 and W1, I used a blender pen to smooth it out.     The paper pack is from Fancy Pants - Happy go lucky.

The sketch was one of those that is so easy to work with.  I flipped it on the side and used my MFT Pierced Rectangle stax for my main image.    I used the MFT Fishtail Flag Stax and a Hot Fudge Button with twine to finish it off.

The sentiment is from MFT LJD Pretty Poppies.

Here is my Card from last week's SSSC201 -

This card I used Paper Smooches Chubby Chums.   The paper used is MME Dilly Dally.

Here is my entry for this weeks Wednesday Sketch Challenge.   I used a new MFT image Pure Innocence Wish you were here.    I colored her with Copics and paper pieced her shirt.    I used some blender solution and some jean material to texturize her pants.    I used some paper from Basic Grey's True Love paper pack.   I layered the images with MFT Whip Cream card stock, Nightshift Blue along with some SU Baja Breeze.    I stamped a background border, MFT LDJ Textile Background in Baja Breeze ink for tone/tone look.   I also used SU Candy Dots.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Love grows stronger…..

I got some Distress Paints over the holidays and created some background papers for some Love cards. I created these cards for Operation Write Home.  I used a Verve set that I got last year called Stronger Love.   Great sentiments for love, anniversary, and Valentine cards.    I used black embossing powder to really may the black darker.    These are flat cards easy for mailing.  They can be used for Valentine or any time you want to send some love!

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

Over the holidays I got some Paper Smooches stamp sets!  So cute -- love them.   Here is one of the cards that I made that I am entering into the Anything Goes Challenge!   Thanks for looking!  Join the fun on the Paper Smooches challenge -- link below.     This card uses the Think Fast stamp set and die set!  Really cut for masculine cards!  I colored the image with Copics and added some Wink of Stella to the cup for some sparkle!  Thanks for looking!

Still a little time left to join the challenge!

My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club

Here is my entry this week for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch (MFTWSC157).  First one for the new year.   Last year I completed all 52 sketches.   They have great products to work with.    I already had out some MFT papers from another card (the MFT Color Challenge 1 this month) and decided to make my card with the same colors.   I used the MFT Die-namics Happy Birthday and cut it out of black and Pink Lemonade card stock.  I used some pattern paper from Pink Paislee Secret Crush 6x6 pad and a doily from Stampin Up! and layered it up on MFT Sweet Tooth Heavyweight card stock. For some glitz I added some rhinestones!
