MFT Card Challenges - Sketch Challenge 212

Here is my card for this week's sketch challenge.    I took some inspiration from the sketch.

I took the oval and changed it to a heart and used the scalloped border in my patterned paper for the scallop at the bottom.  I used a new stamp to me from MFT PI Heart Banner.  I love this image, I have several of the PI banner images and they are super sweet and so fun to color!   I wanted a vintage feel for my Valentine card so I aged the card with Stampin Up Crumb Cake ink.

Stamps:  MFT PI Heart Banner
Ink: MFT Hybrid Black Licorice, SU Crumb Cake
Paper: MFT Whip Cream, SU Real Red, Copic Xpress, Basic Grey True Love
Tools: Little B Hearts Dies, MFT PI Heart Banner, Love and Adore You Die, Copics

Purple Onion Warm Hearted

Here is a card that I created with a new stamp company that I have discovered, Purple Onion.   They have the sweetest images!   I ordered several over the Christmas holidays and hope to get to use them before the end of winter!

This is a card that I created to send my niece and her daughter to say hello.   I just loved this snowman and bunny.    I used water color paper and stamped the image in Ranger Archival Black ink.   I water colored the image with my distress markers and then added the background with some of my Distress Mini Inks.     I then used my Copic white to add snow to the card.    The photo does not show the sparkle that I got with my Wink of Stella in Clear,  Distress Stickles, Glossy Accents and Enamel White accents.     This was a 5 x 7 card.   The sentiment is from Mama Elephant Love from Above.

You are the only one….

I have loved having some time off.   It has really let me unwind from the holidays and relax from a crazy year.     Part of the down time is more crafty time to browse new blogs and create more things.    I have started working on a memory quilt for my oldest son for his high school graduation.    I will share some photos of the process.    Today I am joining a challenge over at new blog that I discovered, K and R Designs.    Take a peak at her beautiful blog.   She has a great clean and simple style!      I am joining her challenge to pick a file from her Friday Inspiration File and casing the card.   I picked this card by Lucy Abrams.    I loved the clean and simple look.

I used a stamp set from My Favorite Things called Lovey Dovey Sentiments.   It appears to be retired!   I embossed it with Hero Arts White Embossing powder.   I used various heart punches from Martha Stewart and then sewed them across the card and added some sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.  The card stock is MFT Smooth White and Grout Grey.

Gorjuss - Ruby - Watercolor

It has been quite a while since I watercolored a card.    I have been on vacation so I have been enjoying the extra crafty time.   But I discovered that I am quite rusty at watercoloring.   I by no means an expert but it took a very long time to water color this card.   I was going to cut it down but decided to make it a 5x7 card.   On occasion I need a 5x7 card and thought that this would be perfect.     I was inspired by Kristina Werner's card here.    Another thing that I have not done in quite a while is using my sewing machine and added some stitched details to the card.

Stamps:  Gorjuss Ruby, Simon Says Handwritten borders
Ink: Ranger Archival Black, Versafine Onyx Black, Distress Inks Pumice Stone, Concord Grape, Seedless preserves
Paper: SU Rich Razzleberry, PI Kraft, MFT Whip Cream, Strathmore Watercolor
Tools: Distress Markers,  Sewing Machine, SSS Mini Hearts die, Sakura White Gel & Stardust, Wink of Stella Clear

My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge MFTWSC209

Here is my card for this weeks sketch.   I am working on building up my Birthday card stash.    I used the MFT PI Happy Banner and Birthday Chalkboard Greetings.    I created a blackboard with MFT Steel Grey card stock and some Sweet Tooth Pigment ink.     I started out making a background with the sentiment stamps.    This part almost ended up in the trash.   It was my second one and when I cut the side, I did not like the missing part.   I added the vellum and then the corner again and was much happier with how it turned out.

I colored the PI image with my Copics and to pop it up off the card I decided to cut two more images with the matching die and it gives it lift but still pretty flat for mailing.   You cannot see in the pictures but I added Wink of Stella in Clear to the banner to make it sparkle.

Stamps:  MFT PI Happy Banner & Birthday Chalkboard Greetings
Ink: MFT Hybrid Black Licorice, Versamark, Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink
Paper:  PI Kraft, SU Basic Black, MFT Berrylicious, Red Hot, SU Vellum
Tools:  MFT PI Happy Banner Die, Blueprints 13, Hero Arts White Embossing Powder, Stitched Horizontal Rectangles

Happy New Year 2015!

I started my blog a year ago and looking back in the year I never thought that I would post this many cards.    My style is expanding and changing.   The products that I work with is expanding.    I have learned many things over the past year and hope to continue to evolve and improve.     This year, I plan to get back into quilting and doing other crafts that I have not done in a while.   I have several projects in mind that I would like to get done.    I plan to post that as well too.   I have always loved to create, no matter what the medium.

I have been on vacation this past week and enjoyed some down time.   I was cleaning and decluttering my craft room for my new supplies that I got for Christmas and realized that I need more Birthday cards.   So, I am hoping over the next few weeks to get a great stash of cards completed.    Here is my first card for the year.    This was inspired by a card that Kristina Werner did in this post.     My hubby got me a photo box to shoot photo's of my cards.   I am still trying to figure out how I can use by background papers as I prefer it over the white background.    But it makes shooting the photos a heck of a lot easier.   Most weeks I had to wait till the weekend when I had daylight to shoot.

Stamps:  Paper Smooches Botanicals 2, Mama Elephant Make a Wish
Inks: Versamark, Distress: Dusty Concord, Seedless Preserve, Pumice Stone
Papers: Ranger Watercolor, MFT Smooth White, SU Rich Razzleberry
Tools: Ranger Silver Detail Embossing Powder, Hero Arts White Embossing Powder, MFT Blueprints  12, Hemptique Twine

I plan to post the card for the Simons Says Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

Happy New Year to you!
