You Gnome Me -My Favorite Things Sketch Challnge

I am typing this post as I sit at the airport for a work trip.  I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day.  Here is a card that I made this weekend for the MFT Card Challenge.  I used a loose interpretation of the sketch found for this past weeks sketch challenge.
The stamp set is MFT's Birdie Brown You Gnome Me.  I colored three of the gnomes with Copic markers and popped them off the main panel with some foam tape.  For the rest of the supplies, please see below.

Colorful - Out of this world!

I have been a little MIA.    I have created several cards to share but did not get time to post.     I am sharing one with you today.    This is inspired by this card.   I started off by creating a rainbow background with distress inks and then stamped with a balloon image on top with some white pigment paint.   I then splattered with water. Distress Inks will react with water.

I used the My Favorite Things stamp set - Out of this World.  I colored the images with my Copic Markers and cut them out with my Brother Scan and Cut 2.   The panel was then cut with the MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangles and then with the MFT Jumbo Peek a Boo Circle.    The inside was then turned and glued on the inside of the die cut.

The sentiment was white heat embossed on a strip of black card stock and to add final touches, I added some Sparkling Clear Sequins.

Stamps:  My Favorite Things Out of this World
Inks: MFT Hybrid Black Licorice, Versamark, Distress Abandoned Coral, Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass
Papers: Bristol Smooth Card Stock, Reflections White, SU Basic Black
Tools: MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle, Large Peek a Boo Frame, Hero Arts White Embossing Powder, Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins 8 mm, 6 mm and 4 mm, Clear Wink of Stella

Watercoloring therapy......

I go thru phases with coloring and what medium I may choose.   I have picked back up on watercoloring again.   I have been watching some watercolor tutorials on Youtube.   This is a great channel here and here.  But also these channels as well if you are a card maker like me, this one and this one

Anyway, here is my water colored card using my Gansai Tambi watercolors.

I used a watercolor panel that is ready to color from Simon Says Stamp here.

It is definitely therapy to watercolor.   Very relaxing!   Give it a try.    Check out the channels on Youtube for more inspiration!

Adorable Elephants - Birdie Brown - My Favorite Things

Sharing a card that I made for my son's girlfriend for graduation.  She loves elephants!    I watercolored with my Distress inks and used Arches cold pressed water color paper.   It is hard to blend and lift colors off this paper.   I tried this paper to see if it was easier to water color on but find that I like the Cason better.   I need to practice some more with this paper.    The photo is a little blurry!

Stamps:  My Favorite Things Birdie Brown Adorable Elephants, Amazing
Inks: MFT Hybrid Black Licorice, Distress Ink cubes in various colors
Papers: Arches Cold Pressed Watercolor paper, MFT Berrylicious
Tools:  Pretty Pink Posh Sequins 4 mm and 6 mm in Aquamarine. Clear Wink of Stella

Beautiful Ride by Simon Says Stamp

What a beautiful day here in the south!   Gorgeous rather chilly for May weather, but beautiful none the less.  I hope that you have had a great weekend!    I made some cards with this super cute stamp set this weekend with my Distress Inks for watercolors.   I embossed the images to make coloring quick and easy.  It is much easier to watercolor when the images have been embossed.    Both cards were colored at the same time.    However, on my first card here, I had a Distress ink bloom come up and it has happened to me before.   Little specks surface up and not sure why it is happening.    So I strategically placed my sentiment to cover up the little bloom mistake.

The images were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and then clear embossed with some Hero Arts Fine embossing powder.  I colored the images with my Distress ink mini cubes (sorry - forgot what colors I used but there were many!)

The second card was colored at the same time, no splotchy ink blooming on this card!  Not sure again why that happens - if anyone knows let me know, it looks like the bloom in the coloring developed chicken pox, little spots show up that are not very attractive.  :-).

I had one teal bike and one red bike to vary up the coloring.    I added some Pico embelisher in clear and a little clear Wink of Stella underneath.   I splattered paint on the card below with my new Tim Holtz splatter brush, I need to practice with this brush a little more!

This card I used some twine and a sentiment from the set to finish it off.   I also added some white specks with my new pen that is water based from Sharpie with a fine tip.   That is my kind of splatter - controlled!   Ha!

Stamp:  Simon Says Stamp - Beautiful Ride
Inks: Versafine Onyx Black, Various Distress Mini Ink Cubes
Papers: Carson Watercolor, MFT Grout Grey and Primitive White
Tools:  Black Velvet Paint brush in 2 and 4, Hero Arts Clear Fine Embossing Powder, TH Splatter brush, Pico Embellisher Clear, Wink of Stella Clear, Sharpie Fine White water based pen, Blue/white bakers twine from the Twinery.
