Beast Friends - My Favorite Things

I absolutely LOVE Birdie Brown images.   Anything that she designs is simple adorable.    These were too cute to pass up.    I wanted to create a pink and yellow sky for the snowy background.   I had this watercolor panel that I had created a while back and I paired it with the chunky tree border die, which appears to be retired.    I colored the Beast with my Copic markers.     The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

Stamps:  MFT Beast Friends

Papers: MFT Kraft, Smooth White, Canson Watercolor

Hand Lettered Sentiments - Holiday Tags

Every year I try to make my own gift tags for all of my Christmas presents.    This year I am using the Hand Lettered Sentiment Stamp Set from My Favorite Things to create some chalkboard style holiday tags.

The tags are multi-layered this year as I plan to use very plain kraft wrapping paper for my gifts.     Each tag has two layers.    The top layer was die cut from MFT Black card stock using the Blueprints Tag Builder 4.    I white heat embossed with the Hand Lettered Sentiments and used Hero Arts Detail White Embossing powder.    I added some holly trim using Paper Smooches holly die.

The main base was die cut using the Pierced Tag stax and then trimmed with the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges.   The panel was stamped with the Gingham Background stamp with Jelly Bean Green Ink on Jelly Bean Green paper.    I stamped both the front and back with the background stamp.     I added a stitched and pierced snowflake with Smooth White card stock.    Both the top and bottom were tied together with hemp twine.   I added some Christmas Red Stickles to the holly to add some sparkle.

Jump for Joy - Lawn Fawn

Here is a fall inspired card using the Lawn Fawn Jump for Joy stamp set.   This is an interactive card with a slider Hedgehog jumping into a pile of leaves! :-)   The main panel was created from water color card stock and then I ink blended the background with several colors of Distress Inks.   It was then sprayed with an Distress sprayer and the water was picked up with a paper towel.   The ink reacts to the water and the water acts as a color lifter.    I then sprayed the background with a Spritzer tool with several Distress Ink Markers.   Be sure the panel is dry when you spray it otherwise the spritzed color just soaks in to the card stock if it is wet.

The images were stamped on Copic Xpress It paper and colored in with Copic Markers.   I used two piles of leaves to really build up the Leaf pile that the Hedgehog is jumping in.

Stamps:  Lawn Fawn Jump for Joy
Inks: MFT Hybrid Black Licorice, Distress Inks: Spiced Marmalade, Scattered Straw, Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Ground Expresso
Papers: Water Color, Copic Xpress it, MFT Kraft
Tools: MFT Blueprints 29, Stitched Basic Edges, Lawn Fawn Slide on Over, Spritzer, Distress Sprayer

One Stamp set - three cards! Happy Hedgehogs

I love critter images.    I really love to sit down and color images and then set aside and have some ready to go images when I may not have as much time to make some cards.   This stamp set is super cute.   I made three cards today using the stamp set and some of the smaller images from the card.

First up, this card is full of die cuts and stamping on plain card stock.   Three of the smaller images in the Hedgehog set were used to create the background for the grout grey circle.   I loved it some much I made two other fun panels with the stamps while I had them out and used them to make two more cards.

All products My Favorite Things unless noted:

Stamps: Wood Plank Background, Scattered Surface Background, Happy Hedgehogs
Inks: Hybrid Black Licorice, Sour Apple, Blu Raspberry, Versamark
Papers: Grout Grey, Blu Raspberry, Sour Apple, SU Early Espresso, SU Soft Suede
Tools: Blueprints 13, Fishtail Flag stax, Pinked Edge Circle Stax, Cross Stitched Circle Stax,  Recollections White Embossing Powder, Tree-mendous

Next up........

Added the Sending Hugs Dynamics and some small hearts.    See the cute background made with the three small stamps in the Happy Hedgehog set.

and then a Holiday card using the Hedgehogs and Beast Friends.  I added a panel with Red Hot card stock die cut with the Scalloped Stitched Basic Edges and used Blueprints 2 for the panel and added a small greeting die cut out with Rectangle stax 2.   I added a heart for him to hold.

Here is a close up of the panel created.   You cannot really tell but I stamped the Red Panel with the Gingham background stamp with Hybrid Red Hot ink.

Lawnscaping Challenge 139 - Happy Howloween!

I made a Halloween card for the current Lawnscaping Challenge.   The challenge was to make a card inspired by a mood board.   I made a howloween card using the stamp set from Lawn Fawn, Happy Howloween.    This is a 3D card using some additional products from Lawn Fawn: Stitched Tree Borders and Stitched Hillside pop up.   Distress Inks were used on the background.   The spooky clouds are a die set from Tailored Expressions.

Frightful Friends! My Favorite Things

Hope you are enjoying this nice fall weather!  I absolutely love this time of year!   I am in full swing making Halloween cards!  It's October after all!   This is a great set from My Favorite Things called Frightful Friends.   I just love the Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein images.   Did you ever watch that old black and white movie!   Brings back memories! I needed a card for a wedding shower do you think they will appreciate that it is October and Halloween is right around the corner?  I am using this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch challenge but instead of a Portrait style, I switched it to a landscape.   See the link below for the challenge.

Stamps Sets:  MFT Frightful Friends, Scattered Surface Background
Inks: MFT Hybrid Black Licorice
Papers: MFT Gravel Gray, Grape Jelly, Steel Gray, Neenah Solar White 110#
Tools: MFT Fishtail Flags Stax, Stitched Arch Stax, Blueprints 25, Blueprints 1

The images were stamped and colored with Copic Markers onto Neenah Solar White 110# card stock but instead of putting them on the front panel, they are stamped and placed inside the card and a peek a boo window is created with the Stitched Arch stax for the front of the card.    I did mask the candle as it is a separate image from the Bride and then stamped the Bride.

The inside panel was cut down with the Blueprints 1 die.    The front panel was stamped with the Scattered Surface background stamp in the Black Licorice ink, cut with the Blueprints 25 die and layered onto a Steel Gray A2 card base.

I created a second card with the same stamp set and used it with an Impression Obsession Sentiment, Monster Mash.   The vampire is from Frightful Friends.    I used some old Martha Stewart Halloween papers and kept it pretty simple on the card.

Additional Stamps and tools noted below:
MFT Double Stitched Rectangle Stax, Impression Obsession Monster Mash stamp (sentiment), SU Basic Black Card stock, Fence is from a retired MFT Die set called Spooky Scene

Thanks for joining me today!   Get out and enjoy the beautiful fall day!

World Card Making Day - Reverse Confetti Halloween

Happy World Card Making Day!   My blog feed is loaded today with all kinds of events and card markers from around the world sharing creations.   I am on a Halloween kick since Fall just started and the weather has cooled down significantly for me.   I ordered some Halloween sets from Reverse Confetti and used all the sets that I got to make the following Halloween cards.    I have several to share with you today.

First up.....

This layout may be familiar if you have viewed my blog recently.   I used a similar layout last week for a card.   I started by stenciling the water color paper with Hero Arts Orange Soda ink.   The watercolor paper has texture to it.   The panel is a full A2 size.    Next I stamped and colored my images from the Best Witches and Too Cute to Spook stamp sets with Copic markers and cut each out.    I stamped the sentiment  from Treat Yo' Self in Versafine Onyx Black ink with my MISTI to ensure that the sentiment was very dark and crisp.

Stamp Set: Reverse Confetti Best Witches, Treat Yo' Self, Too Cute to Spook
Inks: MFT Hybrid Black Licorice, HA Orange Soda, Versafine Black Onyx
Papers: Canson Watercolor paper, SU Basic Black, Copic Xpress it, MFT Whip Cream
Tools: MFT Stitched Fishtail Frames, Wink of Stella Clear, Sakura White Gel Pen, MFT Stencil Jumbo Polka Dot Stencil

Second Up.....

This card almost ended up in the trash pile.   I stamped and masked the images from Best Witches and then watercolored them with Distress Inks.    I started to trash the panel but set aside and came back to it later and completed it.   I am a little OCD with coloring and need to get back into watercoloring so I can embrace the imperfections!  One thing that I did do when it was finished was to use some of my Prisma Colored Pencils to add shadows and deepen some of the coloring.

Stamp Set:  Reverse Confetti Best Witches, Treat Yo' Self, Background - MFT Retired Myriad Dots
Inks: MFT Hybrid Black Licorice, Versamark, MFT Hybrid Grape Jelly, various Distress Inks, SU Soft Suede
Papers: Canson Watercolor, MFT Grout Grey, Grape Jelly, Copic Xpress it, SU Basic Black
Tools: MFT Single Stitch line circle frame, Circle Stax,  Recollections Detailed White Embossing Powder, Copic White paint,  Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen

Last but not least!.....

Thanks for sticking around for this long post!    These images were colored with Copic markers and I created my own background with the spider web from the stamp set.

Stamp Set:  Reverse Confetti Too Cute To Spook
Inks: MFT Hybrid Black Licorice, SU Soft Suede
Papers: MFT Whip Cream, Tangy Orange, SU Basic Black, Copic Xpress it
Tools: MFT Blueprints 25, Avery Elle Die Burst Elle-ments, MFT Stitched Scalloped Basic Edges, Wink of stella Clear, MFT Circle Staxs

Thanks for hanging in there for such a long post!   Happy World Card Making day to everyone!

I am linking these cards to the Simon Says Anything Goes Challenge
