One last card for today...... Birthday Bears and MFT Secondary Colors Summer School

One last card to share for today....... I also made a shaker Birthday card using my Birdie Brown Birthday Bears.

I used the My Favorite Things Summer School Challenge to make a card with secondary colors: orange, green and purple.

I colored my bear in with Copic markers.  The background was watercolored with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors.

Stamps: MFT Birdie Brown Birthday Bears
Inks: MFT Hybrid Black Licorice, Versafine Black Onyx
Papers: Recollections White, Watercolor, Neenah Solar White 80 lb.
Tools:  MFT BB Birthday Bears dies, Jumbo Peekaboo Pierced Circles, Sakura White Gel Pen,  Martha Stewart Glitter Hearts and Stars

I have been trying to Copic color on different card stock.    When I am doing animals, I like coloring on the Neenah, but when I am coloring people, I prefer the Copic Xpress.    Not sure exactly why but for me the hair and skin look better on the Copic Xpress.

Hope you have had a wonderful weekend!    Enjoy your week!

My Favorite Things Weekly Sketch Challenge

I have several cards to post tonight.....hope you can visit a while.    I combined some MFT Summer School and the weekly sketch challenge.     I tried to stick to primary colors but ended up adding just a hint of green.   My niece is a teacher and I thought I would send her this card!   She will be starting at a new school, so I wanted to send her an A+ because she is so sweet!

This is a set that I recently picked up that was on sale at MFT.    I had always wanted it but had not gotten.  They ran a sale not too long ago and scooped it up.  I love the Birdie Brown images and there is about 4 sets that I have not gotten yet, but I plan to! I believe that the Apple is retired but you can still find it on line at different shops.   I colored her with Copic markers.

Stamps:  MFT BB Class Act, Writing Tablet Background, Linen Background
Inks: MFT Steel Grey Hybrid, Red Hot Hybrid, Versamark, MFT Black Licorice Hybrid
Papers:  MFT Nightshift Navy, Red Hot, Steel Grey, Copic Xpress it, Jellybean Green
Tools: MFT Blueprints 13, Button Border,  Pierced Fishtail Flag Stax, Apple

I am entering this card in the weekly sketch challenge and the Summer School Challenge for Primary Colors.

My Favorite Things Summer School - Monochromatic

I decided to join in with the My Favorite Things Monochromatic Summer School and used black as my starting point.     I absolutely loved this card and this card from the Design Team.    I need to give it a try and try to color an image monochromatically.    I am going to practice some this week, I will share if it looks decent.

I think of monochromatic as like a paint strip with gradient hues of the same color.    When I looked thru my paper stash, I tend to focus on the blues and grey's in my stash.     I need to branch out and get some more colored card stock in different hues.   I love this look.

Stamps:  MFT Background Swiss Dots, Houndstooth, Balloon Strings
Ink: Versamark
Papers: MFT Grout Grey, Smooth White, Steel Blue, Steel Grey, SU Basic Black
Tools: Hero Arts Fine Clear Embossing Powder, MFT Happy Hellos die, Horizontal Stitched Rectangles

I really liked how it turned out.   Thanks for stopping by!
