Lawn Fawn - You are Sublime

Hey there!  Hope your week is going well.   I am still trying to do the Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge and made this card.   I am also playing along with the Lawn Fawnatics Cards for Guys Challenge.

I ink smooshed the background with Distress Inks in Chipped Sapphire and Blueprint Sketch onto watercolor paper.    The images from Lawn Fawn You are Sublime were colored with Copic Markers on Neenah Solar White and then cut out.

I decided to make a shaker card and used the MFT Stitched Rectangle Frames to frame up my panel and added various sequins mixes from my stash.    I then added my images to the top of the shaker, some were glued directly onto the acetate and others were popped up with foam tape.

Lawn Fawn - Party Animals

I have a birthday card to share with you.   I have been trying to build up my stash.    I used my Distress Inks to create a bright and colorful background for my little deer.

The stamp set is called Party Animals.   I colored the image with Copic Markers and then cut them out with my Scan and Cut 2.   The sentiment was heat embossed with Hero Arts white embossing powder.   Some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins were added for a final touch of sparkle!

Lawn Fawn Mom + Me * Mother's Day Card

I was so inspired by Kristina Werner's card here, that I decided to do this with my Lawn Fawn Mom + Me Stamp set and make a Mother's Day card.

Kristina did a video with masked ink blending and then used her Zig markers to color the image.   I basically followed her card but changed the images up.    I ended up using more blue (Chipped Sapphire) in mine because it looked nicer with the orange in the fox.   Orange and Blue are complementary colors and she has a video as well.   Check out this video for more on water color mixing but same can be applied to any color medium that will blend together.

I used Bristol Smooth card stock which distress inks and Zig markers work very nicely on.    I cut out the heart image from some masking paper and then applied to my Bristol card stock.   I ink blended with Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire, Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass.   In the end I used more Chipped Sapphire over the Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass.   I liked the look much better in the end.

The fox was water colored with the Zig markers and the stump was stamped in MFT Hybrid Chocolate Brown ink and then colored over with Zig markers.      I white heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set.   Then I trimmed the panel down and placed it on an A2 card covered with some patterned paper wrapped in ribbon.

I just love how it turned out.    Thanks Kristina for your inspiration!

Hope you have a fantastic day!

Lawn Fawn - Party Animal

Happy weekend to you!   Today I used the Lawn Fawn Party Animal stamp set and made a quick birthday card.   The images were stamped on smooth white card stock and them colored with Copic markers and cut out with my Scan and Cut.    For the background, I stamped some soft grey ink on white card base.    I watercolored a piece of watercolor paper with Distress Inks and dragged it thru the ink to get a splattered look.   When I cut it out with a circle die, it reminded me of the earth.

Here is a close up of the images.   The sentiment was white heat embossed on some black card stock and then embossed.

Jump for Joy - Lawn Fawn

Here is a fall inspired card using the Lawn Fawn Jump for Joy stamp set.   This is an interactive card with a slider Hedgehog jumping into a pile of leaves! :-)   The main panel was created from water color card stock and then I ink blended the background with several colors of Distress Inks.   It was then sprayed with an Distress sprayer and the water was picked up with a paper towel.   The ink reacts to the water and the water acts as a color lifter.    I then sprayed the background with a Spritzer tool with several Distress Ink Markers.   Be sure the panel is dry when you spray it otherwise the spritzed color just soaks in to the card stock if it is wet.

The images were stamped on Copic Xpress It paper and colored in with Copic Markers.   I used two piles of leaves to really build up the Leaf pile that the Hedgehog is jumping in.

Stamps:  Lawn Fawn Jump for Joy
Inks: MFT Hybrid Black Licorice, Distress Inks: Spiced Marmalade, Scattered Straw, Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Ground Expresso
Papers: Water Color, Copic Xpress it, MFT Kraft
Tools: MFT Blueprints 29, Stitched Basic Edges, Lawn Fawn Slide on Over, Spritzer, Distress Sprayer

Booyah! and Distress Ink Blending

I have three cards to share today with some different ways that you can create backgrounds with Distress Ink Blending.   All three cards are using the super cute, adorable Booyah! stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

First up - simple ink blending on watercolor paper.    I used four colors of distress ink found below for my color palette.   I blended over the ink 3 layers to get the bold color.   I used Canson watercolor paper and the ink blends very well over the paper.   No water was added.

Next up is Distress Ink blending with water and splatters to provide some more interest to the background.    Ink blend your colors and then spray with a Distress sprayer to get little and bigger water droplets.   Let the water sit on the paper about 30 secs and then lift up.    Then spritz with a marker and Tim Holtz spritzer with some brown ink.   Using the same stamp set, I created another ghostly halloween card.

My third card is blending many inks and using a stencil on top with water and ink sprayed with water.
Using several different inks in rainbow order will give blending in-between the inks with a new color.   for example the blending between Squeezed Lemon and Tumbled Glass will give you a green color.   This was also blended on watercolor yardstick and then using a stencil, spray the stencil with water and place onto the inked background.   Dry and then put a darker ink (I used Hickory Smoke) on the stencil and spray with water.   Then lay ink side down on the background and leave for 40-60 seconds.   Lift up and dry the panel.     You get a ghostly effect from the stencil.   The stencil I used was a Tim Holtz Shatter stencil.

See below for supplies and color inspiration!   Thanks for joining me today!    I will be back to share some more Fall/Halloween cards!

Lawnscaping Challenge - 134 Rainbow Challenge

Happy Saturday!   Hope you are having a wonderful day!   I made a card for the Lawnscaping Challenge this week.

I started with Distress inks and created a rainbow background.   Prior to sponging, I used a stamp set from My Favorite Things and stamped some inks splotches with Versamark and then white heat embossed them.   Then I sponged on my Distress Inks using Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Broken China and Wilted Violet.   I used my Distress Sprayer and sprayed water on the background and let sit for about 30 secs and then used a paper towel to soak up the water.  The panel was cut with a circle window frame.

I used the Lawn Fawn Stamp set Lovable Legends and colored some party animals for the card and cut out with my Scan and Cut 2.    The images were colored with Copic Markers and then placed on the card.   The sentiment was white heat embossed on black card stock and then added to the panel.   The whole panel was propped up on the card base with foam tape and then colored the images with a clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen.   The ballon image is from Adorable Elephants from My Favorite Things.

Lawnscaping Challenge - Distress Maniacs!

Hey everyone!  Hope you are getting ready to start your weekend!   This weeks Lawnscaping Challenge is Distress Maniacs.  So,  I used Distress ink on my card below for the background.    The images are form the ultra cute Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You stamp set.

I white heat embossed with a My Favorite Things Background stamp called Winter Waves.   Then I used several Distress Inks: Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch.    Be sure to use a paper towel to wipe off the ink from the white embossing on the card.   I cut the panel with a Blueprints number 2 frame.   The mermaid and merman were stamped on Neenah Solar White and colored in with Copic Markers.   The sentiment was stamped on another Blueprint 13 label.    I stamped the small three hearts in Apple Mama Elephant Pigment ink and coated with clear Pico Embellisher.  The main panel was frames with the My Favorite Things Stitched Circle Scalloped Frame using Smooth White card Stock.

I am linking this card to the Lawnscaping Challenge below.

A Sakura White Gel pen was used to add detail to the images along with the dots added by the Copic Markers.

Mermaid for you - Lawnscaping Challenge Off Kilter

I am popping in to share a card for a challenge that I saw today.   I bought this stamp set at my local scrapbook store this weekend and when I saw this challenge on the Lawnscaping Challenge web site, I knew exactly what I wanted to do!

I started out by creating the background with Ken Oliver Color Bursts in Ultra Marine Blue and Pthalo Green to create the water background onto watercolor paper.   To create the sand,  I used Distress inks in Gathered Twigs and Rusty Hinge.   I spritzed with water to lift some of the color and  give the sand some texture.

The images were colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut out.   I had stamped many images from the set and then laid them out to determine what images I would use for my under the water scene.    The mermaid on the right was tilted to the right (off kilter :-).   She looks to me like she is swimming backwards or floating upwards by tilting her.   The images were popped up off the card to add more dimension.

Here is a photo to show the dimension lifting some of the images off the card panel and how it can make the images pop off the page.

Here is a link for the challenge:

The base was stamped with a My Favorite Things Background stamp called  Lots of Dots and stamped in MFT Summer Splash ink onto Summer Splash card stock.  See below for a full list of supplies.   Then for a final touch, I used my Sakura White Gel pen for some dot detail, I colored the shells, bubbles and seahorse with Wink of Stella clear for some sparkle and then coated them with the Pico Embellisher to make them glossy.

Stamps:  Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You, MFT Lots of Dots Background
Inks: MFT Black Licorice Hybrid, Summer Splash dye, Ken Oliver Color Bursts (Ultra Marine Blue and Pthalo Green), Distress Inks  (Rusty Hinge and Gathered Twigs), Versamark
Papers: MFT Summer Splash, Smooth White, Arches Cold Press watercolor paper
Tools:  MFT Scalloped and Stitched Rectangle Stax, Rectangle Stax 2, Pico Embellisher - Clear, Wink of Stella Clear, Copics, Hero Arts White Embossing Powder,  ME Landscape Trio, Distress Sprayer, White Sakura Gel Pen
