Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 208

Hope you are having a great week so far.    This is my card for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 208.  I used some new products that I had gotten recently from My Favorite Things.    I started with the new Striped Background stamp and used some SU Pink Pirouette ink on Sweet Tooth card stock from MFT.   This was layered on some MFT Steel Grey card stock and placed on Kraft base.     I looked thru my stamps and dies to find some inspiration for the two rectangle panels on the sketch.    I used my new never before used MFT Dies called Precious Polaroids.   The MFT Pure Innocence stamp was a Valentine stamp but just inking up part and now it is an image for a Saying Hi card.

She was colored with Copics on Xpress it card stock.  I used the MFT Happy Hellos to die cut my "hi" and used the negative and layered it using the MFT Pierced Square Stax using  SU Pink Pirouette and MFT Steel Blue card stock.

Thanks for stopping by!

Deconstructed Sketch 138 - You make the Grade

I am having trouble with my mojo this weekend.   To make a card has been challenging.   I pulled out several stamps and colored up a couple of images, but nothing was making me happy.    This is supposed to be fun and relaxing!    So I walked away and then decided to come back and try again the next day and I am glad that I did.    I colored up this little cutie, MFT Pure Innocence You Make the Grade.    Again I pulled a flower from my stash of made up felt flowers to add to the card.     Thanks for looking!  Hope my mojo comes back next week - I have a box of new MFT items that I will get this week!

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club - MFTWSC163

My mojo is off this week.  I had a really hard time trying to decide how to start with this week's sketch. Sometimes it is like that for me and other times it flows freely.    So I pulled out some stamp sets to get me started.   I love MFT Lisa Johnson's Pretty Poppies.  It is probably one of my favorites.  So when my mojo is gone, start with a stamp set that you love.

For the main panel, I used the background stamp from MFT LJD Pretty Poppies and stamped it in fuse green onto MFT Whip Cream card stock.  It was layered on some MFT Fuse Green card stock.    I used Blueprints 5 & 6 to cut the layers to give a soft rounded edge.  Then layered on a A2 panel of Steel Grey.   Next I went thru my dies and started pulling out some random dies that I thought might work with the sketch.     Sometimes, I go to my Pinterest board and look thru cards that I have pinned for some inspiration.    I found this pin and decided I wanted to add a little bit of this card to my card.   So I used the MFT Peek-a-boo dots die to put dots on only one side of my pink layer and then backed it with the Whip Cream card stock again.  I rounded the edges with my Corner Chomper.

Then it started coming together.   I keep a jar full of felt flowers that I have made with some MFT flower dies and felt.    I have them already made up so when I want to use one, it saves me some time.   I pulled out a Bubble Gum Pink Mini Hybrid Heirloom rose and paired with with a Fuse Green Mini Delicate Doily, Natural Button, some twine and Steel Grey Leaf Filled Flourish.

I then cut a Steel Grey Stitched strip from Blueprints 1 and added a Whip Cream Fishtail Flag banner stamped with the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Pretty Poppies stamp set.    I added two pearls at the top and it was finished!!  Whew!!

After all was said and done, I thought it turned out pretty nice.     Let me know what you think!

Stamps:  MFT LJD Pretty Poppies
Ink:  Fuse Green, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: all MFT, Whip Cream, Steel Grey. Fuse Green, Pink Lemonade
Tools:  all MFT, Leaf filled flourish, Mini Delicate Doily, Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose, Bubblegum Felt, Natural Button, Twine, Pearls (not MFT)

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 206 and a Snow Day!

Hey there!  Hope you had a great day!  We had about 3 inches of snow and sleet today in my neck of the woods!   They are predicting that we will have more tonight!   I live north of Atlanta and we are not used to this type of weather.  It is super cold!

I have a bright and sunny card to share with you today using the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 206.

I was craving sunshine and warm days when I created this card.    I used a newer My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Wish you were here image.    I cut it out and paper pieced her outfit with some Basic Grey True Love paper.    I created the scene using a Pierced Circle Stax from MFT out of SU Baja Breeze card stock.    I used some MFT Jelly Bean Green paper to create the grass and used my Mama Elephant Landscape Trio die for the grass border die.   I added MFT Flat Bottomed Clouds to the sky.   The card was layered up with some Lily Bee Design Sweet Shop 6x6 patterned paper.

I made a little boo boo on my bench when I was coloring the edges with a black marker.  I accidentally made a black mark across the colored bench and had to cover it up.   So I dug in my stash and found this  MFT mini wavy pennant to cover it up so you would never know!  (Our little secret!)   The Hello sentiment is from another MFT PI image, Owl Costume.

Doesn't she look so springy!  Perfect for this snowy day!

I used a ton of dimension dots to pop up the image and the circle from the card base.   To finish off the card, I added a small MFT Fishtail Flag Stax at the top with a Berrylicious button to top it off.

Thanks for looking!  Here is a look at the snow that we got today!  This is my hubby and son having a snow ball fight.   Hope you can stay warm!   Thanks for stopping by!

My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club 162

This is post two for me today.   I got sketchy this weekend with My Favorite Things.  Last year I completed all 52 sketches and shooting for it again this year.     This was a super great sketch.   I love anything that has a circle or flags! :-)    I love this pattern paper that I used, it is by Glitz and the pattern is Uncharted Waters.   It has wonderful yellows, blues, and pinky reds.

I pulled out an oldie but goodie MFT Pure Innocence image, Cute is what I do!    I followed the sketch and started out with my MFT Pierced Square Stax.     My MFT Fishtail Flag Stax's are probably one of my most used dies.   The image was colored on Xpress it card stock and colored in with Copic markers.   (sorry but I forgot to write down the colors used!)   I layered my patterned paper on some MFT Whip Cream card stock and then put this on some PI Kraft card stock.   A little bit of Distress Stickles to add some sparkle and she is all done!

I kept it pretty simple on the inside, I stamped another image in pink ink and added a sentiment from the PI stamp set.     Thanks for looking!

Freshly Made Sketches 122 and My Favorite Things Monthly Color Palette Challenge

Hey there!  Hope you had a fantastic weekend!    I thought I would try out the Fresh Made Sketches challenge this week along with the MFT Monthly Color Challenge.   Here is the sketch for this week's challenge:

I made a sweet birthday card with My Favorite Things  Pure Innocence Birthday Girl.   She is colored in with Copic markers.  I used a colorless marker to make her little dots on her dress.  Sorry, I did not write down the colors that I used!   I know for the skin and hair I used my go to:  E000, E00, E21, E11, Y21, YR21 and YR23.     I am entering this card as well in the MFT Color Challenge 2 (Blu Raspberry,  Lemon Drop and Kraft) this month.   I did not have some of the card colors or inks in my MFT stash so I substituted some Stampin Up papers and inks.

I used the MFT Plaid Background Builder stamp to make the plaid paper with SU Daffodil Delight, Soft Sky, and Crumb Cake.      I used MFT Typewriter Text Background to make my yellow panel and added some SU Candy Dots from the Subtle collection.     For my main image I used the MFT Pierced Rectangle Stax.     Super fast and easy sketch!

Thanks for looking!   :-)

A Sweet Sunday Sketch and Curtain Call Challenge

Hey everyone!   I have one card to share in two challenges today.   My cards is for both the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and the Curtain Call Challenge.    I have not done the Curtain Call challenge before but my favorite MFT is sponsoring the challenge this week, so I had to join along.    I started off with the sweet MFT A la Mode You're My Cup of Tea.   I looked thru my stamps for an image with a cup or cocoa in it.  I spotted my A la Mode image and it was perfect.   The  Curtain Call Challenge is an inspirational challenge.

I was inspired by the blues, chocolates, cocoa and marshmallows in this photo.   Although the sentiments in the set are for tea, I am pretending it is a cup of cocoa.   She was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics.    I used Copic Xpress it card stock.   I find this is the best card stock for me to blend colors together.

The sketch is from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I turned the sketch on the side and added the sentiment strip.   The card was aged with Distress Inks in Tea Dye and Vintage Photo.    The papers are from an older paper pad from My Mind's Eye Indie Chic collection, it is called Nutmeg.   Perfect for this challenge!

I added some pearls to mimic the steam coming up from the hot cup of cocoa (tea).

Skin: E00, E11, R20
Hair: YR21, YR23
Dress/Headband:  B95, B93, B91, E41

On the inside, I layered an additional layer of Baja Breeze card stock along with a light paper from MME pack.   I stamped the A la mode image again in SU Baja Breeze and added a greeting of Thank You from the MFT LJD Pretty Poppies set.    (Sorry I did not take a photo of the inside.   I will have to remember in the future! :-)

Thanks for stopping by!   Hope you have a warm and fantastic week!
