Reverse Confetti June Blog Hop

We are hopping today at Reverse Confetti sharing our Summer Fun projects.   My grand niece is coming for a visit and she loves all things Mermaid.    We always celebrate her birthday when she visits and I am making her a mermaid kit filled with everything Mermaid related.   I need a Mermaid birthday card to go with my gift and Reverse Confetti has the cutest Mermaid stamp set, Mermaid Kisses.   To build a little scene for my Mermaid, I  used the negative pieces from the Scallop Stripe panel Confetti Cuts.  It creates the perfect little ocean waves.  :-)

I used Distress inks in Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers and ink smooshed them onto a watercolor panel.  I splattered with water and once the piece was dry,  I added double sided adhesive to the back of the panel and die cut it with the Scallop Border Panel .    Once die cut I put some removable tape on the front of the panel to hold the negative die cuts in place and then pulled all the adhesive backings off the negative pieces and then laid it onto my Premier Polar White card base.    This way all the negative pieces stay neatly in place while I adhere them.   When I remove the positive die cut, the negatives pieces are perfectly spaced.    I still have my main watercolored Scallop Panel to use for another card!

I colored my stamped images with Copic markers and then trimmed them down.   The sentiment was white heat embossed onto Midnight cardstock.    I added three sparkling clear sequins and some Distress Glitter to the tail of the mermaid and her flower.    You have to have sparkle on your Mermaid tail!    You cannot really see it in the photos but trust me you can see it in person.  :-)

That is it for me today!  I hope you have fun hoping around and get inspired by all the summer fun projects!    I cannot wait to hop along myself!   Have an awesome weekend!
