Countdown to Confetti - Moon Men

Welcome to day three of the Countdown to Confetti May release!   Today we are featuring one of my new favorite stamp sets called Moon Men!   These stamps are so crazy adorable!   I love the little spacemen and their tiny little space suits!!!!  Of course you have to make a galaxy background for them!

So I decided to do a little different take on the traditional black galaxy and spiced it up with some bright colors.    I used my Reverse Confetti Inks to make the  background - this is Blueberry, Lagoon and Bumblebee with a little bit of Midnight in the top corners.   I did a test with my Reverse Confetti inks vs my Distress Inks on the bright color blending below and with my Distress Inks, I had to put multiple layers on to get the same intensity.   With my Reverse Confetti inks, two passes and I had the intense color that I was looking for!!! For ink blending Reverse Confetti inks have become my go to for intense color with less work!

The ink blended panel was cut from Bristol Smooth cardstock and die cut with the Stitched Squares Confetti Cut before I ink blended.  I like the results better when I die cut before I ink blend.   The finished card size is 4 1/4 square card.   Once the panel was dry, I splattered it with Copic Opaque White.   I stamped the Moon Men images onto Premier Polar White cardstock and colored with my Copic Markers.   I die cut them out with the matching Moon Men Confetti Cuts.   I also die cut some stars using glittered card stock.   The sentiment was stamped onto a strip of Midnight cardstock and white heat embossed and I trimmed it down with an angle cut.

Aren't they just adorable!    The new release is available for purchase tomorrow and I think these little guys are going to be super popular!

Reverse Confetti is celebrating their 5th Birthday release.    What is a birthday celebration without a Birthday Card!

I decided I wanted to make another project with the Moon Men but I wanted to make a Box Pop Up card.  I can imagine a little boy or girl would love to get a card like this for their birthday!    It has been ages since I made one of these cards but thought they would be so cute looking like they are actually floating in space.    I used a Splitcoaststampers link here for the tutorial.

After constructing the box card, I made another Galaxy panel using Abyss and Wine inks and splattered it again just like the above card.   I decided to use the new Polka Panel to create my "craters" to appear like they are on a Stone moon base.

I stamped my Moon Men onto Premier Polar White card stock, colored with Copics and then die cut them with the Moon Men Confetti Cuts.  I added the images to the box card with clear window strips to make it look like zero gravity and they are weightless and floating in space!

I scattered some glittered stars cut with the Moon Men Confetti Cuts and stamped my sentiment on a banner from Flowers for Mom and added to the front panel.   I added some Nuvo Clear Crystal Glaze to the little guys helmet and window on the space ship.   I would recommend that you do this, let them dry and then adhere them to the box card after they have dried.   I did it after everything was constructed and had to prop them up to dry so that the glaze wouldn't slide off.    I had a little sliding  on one of them.  :-)

That is it for me today!   I cannot wait to see what the Design Team has created today with this cute set!
