I am popping in to share some summer inspiration with the Whimsy Stamps - Hippo Fun in the Sun stamp set! This is such a cute stamp set, I have two cards to share with you today with this set.
For my first card, I decided to make a circle card for an unexpected shape. I die cut the largest circle die from the Stitched Pierced Circle die set three times - using two to create the card base and the third to add my layers of sand. I scored one of the circles at a 1/4 inches and this will become the hinge for my card to adhere the other circle. I use liquid adhesive so that I can make sure that they are perfectly lined up. Do this step after you have ink blended your front panel.
I created a stencil for ink blending with the Grass and Cloud Edger die. I ink blended with Distress Oxides in Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass for the sky. From another circle die cut, I created the sand by die cutting on opposite ends of the circle with the Wavy Edgers die. I ink blended with Antique Linen and a little bit of Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide inks. I adhered both of these together with liquid adhesive and then foam mounted the sand to the circle with the clouds.
I colored my images from Hippo Fun in the Sun with my Copic markers. I added details with a white gel pen. I then determined my placement of the stamped images onto the panel and used liquid adhesive for the pail and shovel and foam tape for the hippo image. This will add some dimension.
I used a brown marker (don't use your Copics for this) to add some details in the sand. I used a water based marker. I also spritzed some ink on the the panel. I added some more details with my white gel pen.
To finish it off, I added the sentiment that had been die cut with the Quick Strips to the panel - I also trimmed the edge with the Stitched Pierced Circle die to match the card. I added some crystal sequins along with using my crystal sparkle pen to add some more shine!
For my next card, I colored my image from Hippo Fun in the Sun with my Copic markers. I decided to use the Rainbow paper pack for my card base. I selected one of the designs and then die cut it out with the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle dies. This was layered onto an A2 card base.
I die cut a royal blue frame using the Connected Rectangle Frame die. I did another one in white. I added back in some of the pieces with the white card stock. This was added to the card base with liquid adhesive. I then foam mounted the images from Hippo Fun in the Sun onto the panel.
The sentiment was trimmed down and then foam mounted onto red cardstock that had been trimmed to match. I added some sequins and details with my white gel pen.
That is it for me today. I have listed the Whimsy Supplies that I used below. I appreciate you stopping by!
Thank you!
These are adorable!
