Welcome back to more inspiration with the July Club La-La Land Crafts Monthly Kit! I have had so much fun with this month's kit. I had a little inspiration for my designs today, a bag of animal crackers!!!! When I saw them I knew that somehow I needed to incorporate them into this month's kit. I thought of a few ideas but ended up doing a tag. This bag needs to be mailed to a certain little someone. Don't worry - I kept a bag for myself. I have not had these in years and they are so good.
On to my inspiration and project!
I went with the colors in the bag and the background of the safari scene. You can't see the design behind the tag but I incorporated it into the picture frame. I loved the bright and lemony yellow background and used the Safari Skyline Borders to create the background - using only cardstock!
I imagine when you go on a safari you take a lot of pictures, do I decided to use the Photo Elements die. I created a tag for the cookie bag. I colored two of the apes from Ape For You stamp set and colored them with my Copics:
W1, W3, W5, E50, E51, E53, R20
I layered in the Safari Truck and Tropical Leaves. I used the Double Stitched Circle die to stamp my sentiment onto and then added to the tag. I added all of this to a Large Stitched Tag. I added a few rhinestones and added a red and white ribbon.
Next up, I created a 5 x 7 inch card using both Safari Marci and Ape About You stamp sets!
I started by extending the die cut for a Scalloped Rectangle die to ensure that the panel went across the card. I tilted it slightly since the distance between the top and sides is not the same. I used the So Many Dots Layering Stencils and Moonstone Nuvo Glitter paste and covered the leafy green cardstock and set aside to dry.
Next, I created another Photo Element die cut and used the Safari Skyline Border dies to create the inside of the photo. I added some of my colored Apes, stamped a sentiment from Safari Marci. I added some varied green Tropical Leaves.
I added the Safari Truck along with one of the apes. I colored Marci and gave her a Leopard print hat and shirt! This is my first time coloring an animal print - pretty cool! Here are the Copics that I used to color Safari Marci and the apes:
